Chagford school would not be the school it is without the wonderful staff that work here. Below are some details of each of our staff members and their responsibilities.
Mr Jim O'Brien

Mr O'Brien has taught across both Keystage 1 and 2, he is PE and Humanities coordinator and works with the school council. This year Mr O'Brien is working in Hound Tor class with Year 4. |
Mrs Di Brown

Mrs Brown is one of our higher level teaching assistants, she support individuals and groups of children across the school. She is also oversees the Pupil Garden.

Ms Sarah Finnegan
Sarah works alongside our caretaker Isabelle to keep the school spick and span! She likes listening to music while she cleans!
Mrs Marie Bunclark
Mrs Bunclark is one of our cooks. She also serves up the tasty and nutritional school meals.
Mrs Alison Hayes
Mrs Hayes is one of our classroom assistants and meal time assistant. She is also a parent of a child at our school.
Ms Kimberley Meardon
Ms Meardon is one of our meal time assistants. She also helps out in Kestor class each week.
Mrs Jenny Hill

Mrs Hill has taught across both Keystages 1 and 2. She is in charge of Literacy across the school. She also supports the library monitors. This year Mrs Hill is working with Miss Pinn in Scorhill and the Year 2 and Year 3 children. |
Mrs Isabelle Hutchings
Mrs Hutchings is our school caretaker. If you need to know anything,or find anywhere on site then ask Isabelle!
Miss Sarah Pinn

Miss Pinn has taught in both Keystages 1 and 2, she is in charge of Gifted and Talented pupils as well as coordinating MFL (modern foreign languages) across the school. This year Miss Pinn is working with Mrs Hill in Scorhill, and teaching the Year 2 and Year 3 children. |
Mrs Sheila D'Arch-Smith

Mrs D'Arch-Smith is one of our high level teaching assistants, she supports groups and individuals across the school. Mrs D'Arch-Smith also oversees the school 'healthy Eating' tuck shop. |
Mrs Shirley Bennie
Mrs Bennie is one of our school cooks. She also serves up the dinners with a smile.
Mr David Poulsom

Mr Poulsom teaches the Year 1 pupils .He is a newly qualified teacher who did his second teaching practice at our school a year ago (in year 1/2 with Mr O' Brien) He is very happy to be back. He will be working with Mrs P-S and the two classes Haytor and Kestor will be learning together. |
Mr Aubrey Slater

Mr Slater is one of our learning support assistants. He support individuals and groups of children across the school. |
Mrs Julie Mortimore
Mrs Mortimore is a member of our office staff. She works here part time and organises the school dinners amongst other things.
Mrs Ann Searson

Mrs Searson teaches in Keystage 2, she is the Art coordinator and in charge of the school band and leads recorder club. Mrs Searson works in Meldon Class with Year 5.. |
Mrs Jakki Newton
Mrs Newton is a member of our office staff she organises registers and data as well as CRB checks as well as being a parent of a child at our school.
Mrs Jo Paylor-Sykes

As the class teacher of the youngest pupils in school Mrs P-S enjoys finding out what the children enjoy finding out about both at school and at home. She is also a member of the Senior Management Team.
Mrs P-S is Maths coordinator and Assessment coordinator.

Wendy Meardon
Mrs Meardon is in charge of the office as Senior Administrator.Mrs Meardon oversees the day to day running of the school office and the finances, as well as being a member of the Governing Body.
Miss Deborah Philpott

Miss Philpott is Kennon class teacher. This year she will be teaching Year 6. She is part of the Senior Management Team working closely with Mrs P-S and Mr Fenn. She is elected to represent the Teaching Staff on the Governing body.
Miss Philpott is the ICT coordinator and oversees Teaching & Learning across the school.
